James Mathenny aged 79 died at his Carbon Hill home yesterday with funeral plans to be announced later. A church and Sunday school social is planned Friday evening at the Christian Church with music and readings and refreshments. The Carpenter Hardware Company will relinquish mail messenger duties around June 15 and sealed bids to carry mail to the Hocking Valley Railway Station will be accepted at the post office. Mrs. W P Sheppard Sarah Carnes Sheppard died Wednesday at Lockbourne near Columbus at age 70 and funeral services will be Friday at 10 am Columbus time at her daughter's home with burial in Columbus. Sheppard was born to pioneer Alfred Carnes and lived in the area most of her life.
