Kyger Creek Band Banquet Awards Scholarships 1963
Kyger Creek High School held its annual band banquet with three $64 two week band clinic scholarships awarded to Jean Ann Platter Janice Houck and Billy Hysell. Other honors included senior pins majorette buttons and four year music education award. About 200 attended as centerpieces and entertainments marked the evening.

Court Times Set For Week In Gallipolis And Kent
Gallipolis municipal court clerk Mrs Mari lene Settle released a schedule for the rest of the week with no court Wednesday or Saturday. Court will be at 11 a m Thursday and 11 30 a m Friday while regular municipal court time is 1 15 p m daily. At Kent State University a student committee protests insufficient allocations and plans to appear before the Ohio Senate Finance Committee within two weeks.

Iron ore receipts fall in March across U S and Canada
The American Iron Ore Association said March receipts at iron and steel plants in the United States and Canada totaled 3 625 803 gross tons, down from 3 835 821 tons in March of the previous year according to the latest report.

Miss Jean Ann Platter of Kyger Creek High School won the John Phillip Sousa Award for outstanding musicianship in the school band. Ohio University bands director Charles Minelli presented the honor.
