Storm Hits Airliner in Edmonton Turbulence Drama
A Trans Canada Airlines four engine plane carrying 69 aboard encountered violent storms over the Rocky Mountains near Edmonton. A 77 year old man died and 25 people were injured as luggage was tossed and passengers were thrown from seats. The turbulence warning at 21 000 feet arrived too late for many to buckle up before landing. The Vancouver bound flight touched down hard and was grounded for inspection.

Slain U S Officer Identified From Viet Nam Shootout
Lt Parker D Cramer 26 Wantagh New York identified as the American officer killed in South Viet Nam after his jeep was blasted by a hand grenade near Saigon. He died of a head wound inflicted when the Viet Cong shot him and two South Vietnamese companions. He was the 73rd American casualty in the war since 1961.
