New York report says customs agents raided the penthouse of widow Mrs. James C. Ayer last night and seized gowns jewelry and other merchandise valued at 30000. The case is described as bigger than the Lauer smuggling case involving Mrs. Edgar J. Lauer.
The Senate today confirmed Leon Henderson as a member of the Securities and Exchange Commission to replace Supreme Court Justice William O. Douglas.
