The Alpha Gamma Delta Mother's Club hosted a senior girls week dinner at First Christian Church. Miss Leslie Mittman won the outstanding senior and the Mother's Club award. Afterward, each girl shared college plans and Mother's Weekend activities were set for May 6-7.
An inhouse note shares Madalene Barnette forgoes Salt Rising Bread to send her Cheese Cake recipe with crust ingredients cream cheese eggs sugar vanilla and salt filling and topping of sour cream and vanilla baked at 325 for 35 to 40 minutes. A Lorraine Quiche is mentioned as another recipe.
Athens Pi Beta Phi Alumnae Club will sell Arrowcraft products Saturday at Westminster House 18 N College St from 4 a.m. to 3 p.m. Proceeds support the Pi Beta Phi Settlement School in Gatlinburg, an project begun in 1910 to aid mountain communities with crafts, schools, and basic education. Refreshments will be served. Mrs Janice Adams announced a Better Halves Ladies Bowling League organizational meeting at Rollerbowl Monday at 7 p.m inviting interested women.
Albany Grange held its annual baking and seed picture contest for the Junior Grange and a baking and sewing contest for the Subordinate Grange. Bobby Jarvis won seed picture first, Linda Rickard second, Mike Turrill third. Linda Rickard first in brownie baking with Mike Turrill second.
