Production Of Luxuries Should Stop
Dr Lena Madesin Phillips leader of the International Federation of Business and Professional Women argues American women bear some responsibility for luxury goods remaining on sale during wartime. She questions the fairness of blaming women for buying luxuries when they have money and temptations persist, noting governments must redirect production to war needs if manpower allows. The piece ends with a social note: Mrs Dalton Taylor visits her mother in Hanover, Virginia.
