Man Killed as Train Hits Auto Near Cook's Gap
POMEROY May 1 Elmont Stevens 62 a Rutland township resident was killed instantly when his car was struck by a northbound New York Central passenger train at 6 30 this morning near Cook's Gap on the Pomroy Rutland pike. The body was removed by the train crew and the train halted. Stevens lived in Rutland and was returning from Mrs Bryant's with family washing. He is survived by Louis Stevens of General Machine Co and Mrs Jack Gehring of Chicago.
