State Officials Recommend Sites For Proposed Memorial Hospital
State Department of Health officers O C Carter and Philip J Hall visited Meigs County to review 21 potential sites for the proposed Meigs County Veterans Memorial Hospital. They recommended two locations Liberty Lane School in Pomeroy and the B C Talbott property in Middleport, citing access, utilities, flood safety, and serviceability. Several sites were eliminated due to flood risk and lack of sewage disposal, and board members tabled final site selection and preliminary drawings.

Langsville youth held after pole crash and theft claim
Billy Eugene Wallace, 19, of Langsville, was jailed on leaving scene and car theft charges after a Friday night crash that damaged a utility pole on E Main Street. He allegedly tried to pass another eastbound car, struck the pole, fled, and later abandoned the car near Rock Springs Fairgrounds. The pole damage was about 100 dollars and the car was extensively damaged. Patrolmen reported minor damage to two other cars in a separate incident near Pomeroy Junior High School. No charges were filed in that collision by Saturday morning.
