WMC Helps War Veterans Find Work in State Programs
World War II veterans and handicapped persons begin a state wide job placement training effort at the Cambridge War Manpower Commission office. The program, led by a state WMC training representative, aims to open an intensive series of classes across nine area counties and later expand to other regions. Employers will be asked to increase cooperation as the initiative identifies suitable roles for disabled workers, including those with spinal injuries and leg or nerve issues, and many plants have already formed committees to tailor jobs to each veteran’s limitations.
