In Nelsonville, residents celebrate the reconditioned Peoples Bank clock in Public Square. The Foundation for Appalachian Ohio hosted a ceremony Saturday night, unveiling a clock fully repaired, repainted, with Roman numerals and new hands, restoring a timeless centerpiece.

Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine rejects the summary of an Athens County driven medical marijuana initiative. The measure would allow adult cultivation for medical use, tax and regulate production, and authorize industrial hemp. DeWine cites two defects and notes potential misinterpretation about age requirements for cannabis related work. Don Wirtshafter of Guysville plans revisions and resubmission within days. 1000 valid signatures are required to advance the petition for DeWine’s review.
