Death Rides Road for Six

Six people died on Ohio highways as warm weather drew thousands on trips. Two Marion youths, Richard Eckert and Charles Tace, died when their car hit a bridge east of Kenton. Motorcyclists Leo Nick and Howard Anderson died separately near Columbus and Newark. Additional fatalities include Henry Placke in Cincinnati and Ruth Creswell in Mechanicsburg after a car collision.

Ashland Oil seeks permit for Ohio River marine terminal

Ashland Oil and Refining Co. of Ashland Kentucky applied for a permit to build a marine oil terminal at South Point Ohio. The plan includes mooring three barges along the right bank and laying three 10 inch pipelines in the river bank. Objections from river navigation standpoint will be accepted until March 29.
