Ohio coal operators and railroads completed a state wide consolidation to control output and end ruinous competition. The plan covers seven to eight million tons moved over 2250 miles of track by 150 interests employing 20 006 men. It seeks prosperity for mining districts and urges public work programs to aid able bodied applicants for charity. A Kanawha and Michigan freight wreck near Dyesville halted trains, injuring no one but causing about 10 000 dollars in losses. Bishop Fallows of Chicago will speak at Ohio University commencement.
