Charles Pettit longtime Alexander township farmer died suddenly at the home of his daughter Mrs. Minnie Spooner in Kansas City where he was living. Death of Charles Miller in Athens at 25
Charles Miller died Monday night at his West State Street home at age 25 from tuberculosis. He lived in Athens all his life and worked for Bert Risley for an extended period. He was single. Funeral services were held Wednesday morning at the Catholic church conducted by Rev. J. B. Mattingly, with interment in the new cemetery.

Athens society notes record a pillow shower Thursday night for the A club in their new rooms. Palm and fern decor sparked the parlors while the dance hall carried club colors gold and black. Twenty eight pillows and many pictures were presented by the local young ladies. Forty couples danced as Selby’s orchestra played in the dancing hall and an Italian orchestra entertained in the parlors.
