Barrett Defends Actions On Not Releasing Year End Reports
Mayor Donald Barrett defended keeping inter-office year end reports from Ed Fischhoff a council candidate saying public release could damage department heads faith in city government. He said reports are available for inspection by council members through department heads with individual approvals. Barrett released the reports to reporters noting media responsibility to present objective summaries. The documents include department heads recommendations for 1973 including fire station expansion possibilities and equipment purchases.
