A private funeral is planned Friday at 10 a.m. at her Perkasie Pennsylvania home with burial expected on her Bucks County farm. She authored The Good Earth and All Under Heaven among many works plus a novel about a diplomat who leaves Peking after Mao's rise.
National figure Phyllis Schlafly testified at the Ohio House State Government Committee public hearing on the Equal Rights Amendment. She argued the amendment would shift family support duties and urged retention of traditional roles. The hearing drew over 300 attendees as the panel nears a vote.
