Census studies under way in Athens prompt count corrections
Athens officials report ongoing reviews of preliminary census returns. Pendry, executive secretary of the Board of Trade, notes crews from Ironton and local enumerators will recheck counts, aiming to address omissions in housing and student directories. The U S Census Bureau counts students in college towns as residents, refining Athens population estimates to 11406 for 10. Some private homes and landlords may have hidden student residents. Dean Armbruster of Ohio University receives an honorary doctor of commercial science from Suffolk University during commencement in Boston.
