Descendants of Confeder ate Gen. John McCausland and other guests attended a ceremony south of Henderson as a highway marker honoring the Civil War leader was erected near his burial site. The marker notes his Shenandoah Valley raids and final life, with remarks by Rev. Shirley Donnelly and presentation by Dr. Charles P. Harper.

Ditch Escape Ends In Williamson Car Crash
A vehicle left the roadway into a ditch traveling 195 feet before returning to the highway, skidding across the road and colliding with the Williamson car. Damage was estimated at 700 dollars.

Police Check 2 Accidents Near Point Pleasant WV
Cor poral H C Beverley of the West Virginia State Police investigated two highway accidents within four hours Thursday evening. One person was hospitalized, Mrs John E Flowers of Park Drive, who lost control on Route 62 near West Columbia at 3 30 p m. Her car left the highway and crossed the road hitting a railroad track with damage about 150 dollars. The second crash occurred at 7 15 p m on Route 17 southeast of Henderson involving Harry Bowen Stevenson of Columbus who was arrested for failure to keep his vehicle under control. Earlier Thursday the same group dedicated a marker for Gen Albert G Jenkins on Route 2. Ney R Williamson 17 of South Side was following a road sweeper when Stevenson went toward Charleston and went into the path.
