Sarah M. Lant Dies at 98 Pioneer Meigs County Resident
Sarah M. Lant 98 longtime Meigs County resident died at Ray L. Smith's home in Middleport on Friday evening after a long illness. A short funeral will be held at 1 o'clock Monday at her home followed by services in Coalville at 2:30 p.m. at the M E Church with Rev L L Cherrington of Batavia officiating. Burial will be in Coalville Cemetery. Born to New England parents, she taught at Chester at 17 and married Wesley Lawrence in 1858, who fell in the Civil War. later married Joseph Lant, who died in 1913. Her life was spent in Athens Meigs counties, with a longtime home at Coolville and active in the Coolville Camp Meeting Association. Her final years were with her nephew R T Smith.
