Mrs. Kate Ator aged 78 died Wednesday morning at her home on The Plains after a long illness. Survived by daughter Mrs. Mary Shafer Athens and son Wilson Ator Dayton, a brother L A Wilson Temple Okla and sister Mrs F H Dalton Akron. Two infants also preceded her. Services arranged by Jagers and Sons funeral home with calling after Thursday noon.

A public ceremony in the Common Pleas courtroom will honor the late Judge Roger J. Jones Sr who died February 1. The Athens County Bar Association seeks a memorial resolution for the Probate Court permanent record. Judge Harold J. Rose will preside as Erle Bridgewater Jr presents the petition with O F Rowland assisting. Judge Jones served since 1954 and died in office.

Driver Escapes Injury After Route 33 Crash
A 16 year old from Middleport escaped injury Tuesday night when his car left Route 33 about 6.6 miles south of Athens. State Highway Patrol reports Guy Bing was at the wheel as the car went off the right side in a sharp curve, struck a guardrail, crossed the road and left the highway on the left.
