Meigs County Begins Western Coal Lands Drilling Near Dexter
Last Thursday work started on the Sherman Miner property in western Meigs county. Drilling has reached over 100 feet, with the first vein at about 200 feet and seven feet thick, followed by an eleven foot vein another 100 feet down. McKinstry and Stalder of Athens supervise the operation as plans call for a shaft soon. The coal tested here is said to be superior to eastern Meigs coal.
