Columbus Gas Rate Decision Sparks Push for Lower Pomeroy Tariff
In Pomeroy Ohio the Ohio Supreme Court ruling favoring a flat 48 cent gas rate renews local demands to cut prices. Councilmen E P Duerr and Wright McCroba met utilities officials after the decision, seeking relief from the present 1.25 start rate and 0.125 per 1000 cubic feet minimum. Local residents would save about 20 cents per thousand cubic feet if the lower rate is adopted, pending franchise issues with Ohio Fuel Gas Co. The page also notes residents and visitors in Pomeroy and nearby Middleport and Columbus.
