Engagement announced for Joan Harmon to James Smith

Mr. and Mrs. Pearlie Jewell of Henderson and Harold Harmon of Pittsburgh announce the engagement of their daughter Joan Harmon to James Smith, son of Mr. and Mrs. Norman Smith of Pomeroy. Wedding plans are set for July 7. After the wedding they will reside in Pomeroy where Mr. Smith is employed.

Candystripers Meeting Held at Pleasant Valley Hospital

A special Candystripers meeting at Pleasant Valley Hospital was led by Dot tie Knoll with devotion by Sandi Thornton and treasurer’s remarks from Linda Martin. Plans included a square dance with the hospital auxiliary on August 17 at the 4 H Recreation Center, South Side, and a July 10 meeting at 7 p.m. to refine dance plans.
