Night Baseball at Middleport Draws Strong Fan Interest
In Middleport on June 21 Oak Hill led by Al Moore beat Huntington Rosedales 9 to 5 as Moore walked 13 and struck out 14. Huntington Wolfe and Gillespie worked for Huntington with 4 hits to Oak Hill's 12. A postponed game saw CCC Camp Meigs defeat another Huntington team 10 to something. Tournament officials forecast more hard fought matches and note Boy Scouts will share in proceeds. The improved Middleport High School Athletic Field supports the night tournaments and a new recreation hall layout. Mrs. Edgar Allensworth hosted 40 guests at North Third Avenue in honor of her sister Mrs. Doyle Miller.
