Bath Speaker At Taxation Meeting In Bath
MCARTHUR June 20 The recent tax meeting at the Court house drew a full hall to hear E J Bath of the State Farm Bureau. Bath urged that the legislature under the new constitutional amendment gains power over tax rates and methods. He favored House Resolution No 20 to return 50 percent of income and inheritance taxes to the origin community for roads and schools and proposed taxing auto mobiles at purchase time instead of general tax. County Extension Agent T C Kennard Floyd de Lashmutt and H J Swaim urged broad discussion before the Legislature convenes next January.
