Williams Attacks Street Work. Council Warns on Payments
Williams criticized street repairs as unfinished or poorly done by an Athens contractor and urged the street committee to probe before paying. Council agreed to approve bills only after satisfactory work and also approved space use for Appalachia program offices at the Civic Center. The village also secured a railroad right of way for a Sunday Creek bridge project and appointed police personnel, with a temporary chief and extended service for an acting officer.
