The former Athens County Historical Society and Museum on North Court Street may become a hotel after Cornwell Properties bought the building for 758000 this year. A concept drawing was shared with the city, and Mayor Patterson called the prospect intriguing while noting discussions with Anne and David Cornwell.

Former OU student pleads guilty to burglary and tampering

Howard, 25, of Canfield, pleaded guilty to burglary and tampering with records, both third degree felonies, for an alleged assault on an Ohio University employee and false information to obtain a firearm.
