Starner faced civil penalty over bank lending lapses
The Messenger details FDIC allegations that Starner breached fiduciary duties and engaged in unsafe practices at Citizens Bank of Logan. It outlines loans to Resolution Lending entities totaling 4.15 million that exceeded Ohio lending limits, misrecorded as in progress, and led to a 5.6 million refinancing with Acropolis guarantees. The FDIC cites board and executive oversight failures, with a confession of judgment and quitclaim deeds tied to University Estates collateral. An administrative hearing will be scheduled.

Little B Bed and Breakfast Opens in Nelsonville
The Little B, a newly opened B and B in Nelsonville, aims to attract visitors with a sophisticated small-town vibe. The property, built in 1936 by Dr Lorenzo Butts in a Spanish Revival style, retains original hardwood floors and glass, with a serene interior. Brooks hopes to restore charm while promoting tourism through the town’s Chamber of Commerce and local attractions like Stuart's Opera House and Hocking Valley Scenic Railway. A ribbon cutting and open house are scheduled Thursday June with a Chamber partnership and a future TripAdvisor listing.
