The Plains welcomes a new gallery housing archival work by local artist Kevin Morgan. Michael McSteen, project manager and owner, renovated 108 N Plains Road into space for Morgan posters and other pieces while inviting other local artists. Community Justice Initiative Aims to Curb Drug Abuse Efforts
Athens County officials from the Prosecutor and Sheriff offices along with the Health Department and local attorneys met with Trimble Two Bridgebuilders to discuss crime prevention and addiction help. Dr. James Gaskell highlighted Project DAWN Narcan training and prevention bags, noting 50 trained individuals and 43 bags distributed. Sheriff Rodney Smith said naloxone may be deployed in cruisers, while prosecutors spoke of the community justice and diversion programs for first offenses and those with no prior record.
