Peach Crop in Ohio Ready for Early August Harvest
Ohio growers reported at a Cleveland conference that the state's peach crop will be ready for harvest in early August. Normal production runs about 700000 bushels, with this year’s yield expected near normal despite spring frosts. Weather this summer has produced good quality, size, and color, and demand remains strong due to government rationing and home canning needs as Kroger officials noted.
