Two Guards Die at Lucasville Prison Shootout

Ohio authorities reported that two guards were killed in a noon hour shooting at the Southern Ohio Correctional Facility in Lucasville. Convict Wayne Raney, 23, is hospitalized after being overpowered by guards. charges will be filed. Inmate confinement to cells and an administrative state of emergency were imposed as the investigation proceeds.

Memorial services set for WWI ace Eddie Rickenbacker

Memorial services will be held Friday at Key Biscayne Presbyterian Church for Capt Eddie Rickenbacker the World War I ace and former Eastern Airlines chairman who died Monday in Zurich at 82. His body will be cremated and interred later in Columbus Ohio. Rep Sam Devine introduced House legislation to name Lockbourne Air Force Base after Rickenbacker. the Pentagon has not received an official request.

Hardened Criminal Raney Kills Two Guards in Prison Hostage Drama

Wayne Lester Raney 23, a longtime felon with an arrest record since 16, shot and killed two Lucasville prison guards after taking four hostage.
