The Vinton County Board of Revision met Tuesday to hear complaints on the re appraisal of real estate. Present were Auditor Theodore R. Boring Treasurer Ronald E. Simms and Commissioner Harold Felton.
Rutland updates include Judy Chase returning from Columbus, Dwaine Barr recovering from minor surgery at Meigs Clinic, the Flowerses visiting Huntington, and several calls on relatives. The Leifheit reunion, Bible School start, engagements, a Kentucky marriage, and various visits span Rutland and nearby towns.
Miss Peggie True and Sarah Dickens vacation at Virginia Beach. Visitors to Mrs. Frank Wooten include Bern and Nolan Wooten with family. Virginia Neville hosted a birthday party for her son Robert Lee with the Knapps, Barnetts, and others attending. Helen E. Roush signs off.
Mrs Earl Hutton and daughter Marjory sang at the Methodist Church in Minersville. Mr and Mrs Ira Fleming hosted a dinner honoring Mr and Mrs Bob Roberts and their sons Robbie and Mike of Pomeroy, plus Mr and Mrs Branch Fleming of Gallipolis.
A suit by Joe D. Miller against Houck Coal Co. was dismissed in common pleas court at Miller’s cost and without a record. The action ends with no damages or further proceedings indicated.
