Albany Route Public Water Projects Low on 1974 Grant List
Gov. Gilligan announced a 1974 priority list for federal construction grants to Ohio municipal water projects totaling 173.2 million. Racine in Meigs County scores 134 for an 897,000 project, while Albany’s 896,000 request sits at 221st of 225. The list factors in basins like Lake Erie and Cuyahoga and favors areas with sewer bans or water quality issues. EPA evaluation considers infiltration and user charges.
