OVST Leading Man Prefers Bit Parts to Stellar Roles
Paradoxically OVST star Jack Spell, the leading man in Dark at the Top of the Stairs, favors bit parts and design work over acting. He aims for practical, workable sets and costumes and claims bit parts can steal scenes. Spell, an OVST veteran, will return after army service to complete a masters thesis on Kabuki dance. He criticizes modern cinema as spectacular and poorly understood, noting more good young actresses than actors in Hollywood.
