Appeals court overturns ruling in Athens sewer lawsuit
The 4th District Court of Appeals overturned a Common Pleas summary judgment for the city of Athens in a 2010 case brought by Laries Inc and Drs Reistenberg and LaVelie over basement flooding and damaged records from a storm sewer backup. The panel found evidence of a maintenance issue, not immunity, sending the case back to judge George McCarthy.

Athens man sentenced six years for robbery and burglary
Thaddeus D. Basham, 22, of Athens, pled guilty to aggravated robbery, aggravated burglary, and felonious assault for two incidents, one at 85 N Court St on Nov 18 and another on McKinley Avenue on Nov 16. He received three years for aggravated burglary plus three years for a firearms spec, and five years community control on felonious assault with additional five years post release and community control.
