Convicted rapist Canterbury appeals to Ohio Supreme Court
Levi Canterbury, 25, whose August 2013 rape convictions were affirmed by Ohio Fourth District Court of Appeals, appeals May 5 2015 decision to the Ohio Supreme Court without counsel. He received seven years in Chillicothe Correctional Institution after a jury found he engaged in sexual conduct with an intoxicated woman and used force in the second rape. Public defender criticizes prosecutorial comments and lack of defense objections. The appellate court rejected claims of ineffective counsel and prosecutorial misconduct. Canterbury remains imprisoned.
