Cowboy and Rodeo Star That’s New Mexico’s Attorney General
Santa Fe July 7. Bob Dow, New Mexico attorney general and lifelong cowboy, participated in three rodeos during the first week of July and plans to enter Tex Austin’s national rodeo in Chicago next month. Born in Carlsbad where his father was sheriff, Dow recalls brutal frontier days and his family’s sheriff history. He still slips away from office weeks to ride and rope, proving his skills with a calf roping 25 second win in Carlsbad while a former legislator. He anticipates Chicago with confidence, saying his practice may be less but his natural ability remains.
