Republicans Hold Nominating Convention Plan for Ohio District

The Fifteenth Ohio District Republicans prepare for a convention at Marietta City Hall on July 13, 1886 to nominate a congressional candidate. Representation is based on votes for J B Foraker in October 1885 with one vote per 100 votes and fractional votes over fifty. Counties including Athens Meigs Monroe Morgan Washington select delegates. J P Wood and others named as chair and delegates for each county.

Athens County Republicans schedule a delegate convention at City Hall Athens Ohio July 12 1886 to elect eight delegates and eight alternates to the State and Congressional conventions. A July 10 1886 primary selects candidates for Auditor Commissioner and Infirmary Director with 74 delegates apportioned by Foraker votes and supervised by named officials.
