City Fourth celebration draws huge crowd at Point Pleasant
The Fourth drew one of the largest crowds in years despite 97 degree heat. A two-hour parade featured military machines from the 3664th Ordnance Maintenance Company and 15 Charleston National Guard planes, with many floats including Leon Home Makers and Appalachian Electric Power. Queens were crowned, bands marched, and a fireworks display closed the day before a ball honoring Miss Nibert. Horse show results and prize donors are listed.
