Three From Hocking County Receive Severe Injuries
Three residents of Hocking County sustained serious injuries in Fourth of July crashes. Lois Shunkwiler, 28, of Logan Route 3 had a shattered left leg after a collision on Route 32 south of Carroll and had the limb amputated between knee and ankle. Phillip Michel, 15, of near Union Furnace, suffered a severe crushing laceration of the right leg above the knee when struck by a passing motorist on Route 56 between Coonsville and Route 278. Donna Belle MacNichols, 24, of South Bloomingville was badly injured when riding on a truck rear and struck by another vehicle two miles south of Route 56.
