Commissioners Fail to Elect County Relief Director in Gallia
Gallia County commissioners did not elect a county relief director at the Monday meeting. The relief post has been vacant since June 30 due to a blood relationship with County Commissioner Dan E. Jones, prompting debate over whether he may continue serving. Several applicants filed for the position, while officials consider legal implications of any action by Jones. The panel also approved 750 for a half year assistant engineer in the County Engineer’s office to meet WPA project requirements.
