Athens County Plans House Numbering Plan Postponed

Athens County commissioners postponed action on a house numbering proposal as residents voiced opinions. Ernest Peters presented a petition for a new system replacing street names with numbers, while two letters endorsed the plan from Ken Ackerman and Darrell West. The plan would let residents supply their own numbers, with no uniform size rules, and a county depository agreement expires August 12 with $2.5 million active and $200 thousand inactive funds.
