Grosvenor Delegates Battle in Athens County Meeting

In Athens county Republican Central Committee actions on Saturday led to a clash over selecting congressional delegates. Elmer Martin Killed By Train Near Chauncey

Elmer Martin age 19 was struck by the northbound Hocking Valley passenger train at Cods crossing Chauncey and killed instantly. He worked in the mines Set and was en route to work. The engine crew did not see him until too late. His body was taken to Beaumont and funeral services planned for tomorrow.

Death of Mrs Bellman in Nelsonville

Catherine Bellman died after a short heart illness at her Nelsonville home aged 72, nine months after her husband’s death. Funeral services were held at her daughter L T Rhodes’s Fort street home conducted by Rev L E Sparks, with interment in Green Lawn cemetery. She leaves three daughters Mrs J T Rhodes, Mrs J A Bethel, and Anna Lyons.
