Hospital Levy Okayed For Ballot In May Primary
Logan Hocking County commissioners moved to place a six tenths mill hospital levy on the May primary ballot to fund operation for five years, after the hospital board reduced its request by one tenth mill thanks to more than $25 000 raised for obligations. The panel also ordered rebinding of permanent records at an estimated cost of 4700 and discussed subdivision approvals for land in limited cases with the county engineer and auditor.

Nelsonville Library Adds 31 New Books From Public Librarian
Nelsonville Public Library announces 31 new books including 15 fiction titles such as Nobody Answered The Bell and The Winds Of War and eight mysteries plus several non fiction works. In Glouster the annual inspection of Glouster Lodge 607 F&AM will be held Friday at 7 30 p m at the Masonic Temple with Lloyd B. Roth overseeing and refreshments afterward.

Mishaps Reported By Sheriff In Hocking County
Two accidents were investigated by the Hocking County Sheriff's Department with one citation issued. Dave Allen Hanning 20 of New Straitsville Route 1 was cited for excessive speed after his car struck a parked vehicle belonging to Walter Burns 53 of New Plymouth Route 1. He drove off the road to avoid a turning car and crossed the highway 45 feet before stopping. Clarence E Haybron 30 of Creola swerved to miss two dogs on Route 93 about a mile south of Route 33 hit gravel and an anchor line to a guard rail and toppled over a bank. The truck’s weight pulled two posts. he was not injured.

ThreeCar Crash in Logan Near Front and High Streets
Logan City police investigated a three car collision on W Front Street near High Street. At 10 46 a m Pamala Ulmer 20 stalled leaving a parking space. Earl Riggs 16 struck Ulmer then hit Hobart Smart 70. Citations were issued for Riggs reckless operation Ulmer no license and Gary Ulmer for permitting an unlicensed driver. Logan probate judge nominating petitions filed by Democrat Rhea Bangert Brown seeking re election with Republican Richard Gerken as sole challenger.
