Only Four Times in Eighty Years Have Seen Good Times
Carrie Chapman Catt marks her eightieth birthday reflecting that only four periods in eight decades were truly good times. She links depressions to normal cycles, discusses women's rights progress with Susan B. Anthony and Julia Ward Howe, and argues economics influence divorce beyond emancipation. A biographical sketch notes her early activism, leadership, and continued public involvement. The piece also mentions local club events and Mrs. Rauch’s Detroit trip, ending with a note on global air routes totaling over 300000 miles.
