Staff officers arranged safeguards to protect Allied prisoners in POW camps from air attack near MUNSAN Korea. The UN command acknowledged Allied planes last week may have inadvertently dropped a bomb near Kaesong and possibly strafed a communist armistice convoy, signaling ongoing deadlock.
Allied jets claimed two communist MiG-15s shot down over northwest Korea with probable destruction of another and damage to a fourth. The 8th Army reported 3,483 enemy killed, wounded, or captured last week, bringing year-to-date communist losses to about 13,292. Prisoner camp safeguards were agreed, with maps and locations of POW camps to be disclosed for air identification, while truce talks yielded no progress and continued stalemate outlook.

Henry Lambee, attorney for Max Amerman, disclosed Amerman later removed Mast from insurance policies after learning Mast’s wife asked Gov. Lausche to deny clemency for Amerman and Gerald Killinger. Amerman and Killinger were convicted in the Oct 5, 1950 ambush killing of Harold Mast.
Bishop Francis Eric Bloy says churches in the Los Angeles Episcopal Diocese should not raise funds through raffles or games of chance. He warned no church should take money from outside sources, whether from horse track charity days or lotteries.

Postal inspectors arrested 38 year old Emil J Wegman of Pittsburgh in Crestline Ohio after recovering between 4000 and 5000 dollars worth of missing parcel post packages from his car. Led by Joseph P Nolan inspectors traced complaints to his Pittsburgh Crestline route and found a 180 dollar watch bound for Billings Montana missing at Fort Wayne Indiana.
Michael V. DiSalle announced his resignation as price chief to seek the Democratic nomination for the U.S. Senate in Ohio. He said he may stay on until a successor is named by President Truman and spoke after a White House meeting with Truman.

Harm K. Doolittle known as Mr. Gambier was found dead in his bed at his Gambier home Tuesday. A former storekeeper, he was connected with the Kenyon College area and was a familiar local figure.

Denver police report Donald B Rankin 27 was arrested on dynamite mailing charges to Bowling Green. The package contained 15 sticks sent to Douglas James McCray a 27 year old truck driver who received it unopened. Rankin allegedly shot at McCray last December 8 in Bowling Green.

A former Athens resident, A. Coonrad, 39, of Columbus, died in the Elizabeth, New Jersey airplane crash yesterday. Coonrad was linked with the Farm Bureau Cooperative Association in Ohio and later with Farm Bureau Federation as a field man. He joined Farm Bureau Insurance in Columbus a year ago as assistant director of policyholder relations. He leaves his wife Ruth and three children, Barbara 20, Arnold 79 and Marilyn 18, all of Columbus.
