In Cincinnati on January 13 Eric Gosney a 42 year old guest allegedly tried to strike Mrs Leona Williams 39 with a whisky bottle. Joseph Williams 46 husband of the woman fired a shotgun to protect his wife and Gosney was killed. Police expect murder charges against Williams. Three fingers of Mrs Williams left hand were blown off by the shotgun blast. Foster and Williams reported Gosney was drunk.
The Ohio Relief Commission voted to forward 52775 to the Reconstruction Finance Corporation and authorized diverting 67000 in gasoline and motor vehicle license revenues for relief work. RFC grants went to Columbiana County 38775 and Perry County 14000. gasoline tax diversions to Mansfield 35000 Bellevue 36000 and Tiffin 18000.
In Cleveland on Thursday night a man named Stephen Myers age 4 and his police dog Queenie were found dead in a trucking company garage after a fire. A district woman, Mrs Mary Sapp, suffered critical burns when an electric heater ignited her clothing while she slept in a chair.
Japanese airplanes and cavalry pressed actions north of the Great Wall to guard Chio menkou ninth gate as Chinese forces mass for an invasion of Jehol. Chinese villages were bombed and displaced civilians counted by the American consulate, including 640 in Peiping and 425 in Tientsin.
In Cincinnati on January 13 A P Ralph Reidy 21 a former restaurant waiter was arrested on a murder charge hours after Mia Martha Sottong 32 was found dead in a downtown flat with gunshot wounds Police quoted Reidy saying the woman was fatally wounded during a struggle to take a pistol he had threatened to use on himself The husband owner of the restaurant learned of the affair leading to the job loss and arrest
Mrs Lilly Dale Dye sister of Mrs R E Sutton of Canaanville Road died at Marion Ohio home of her daughter Mrs W M Dutton after a decade long health decline. She leaves a daughter two sons and several grandchildren along with three sisters. Funeral held and burial occurred in Marion.
