The pump will help prevent flooding on Fulton Canal and Myers Streets under design flood conditions, but will not address all floods. Wharton noted a $995 bill from Lane Ohio Co. for deep well casing repairs, below the $1,500 estimate, and reported a city water mains leak with possible large losses. The reservoir stood at a three foot level, requiring extra pumping at the water plant to meet demand.
