Sewer and water study for Athens County due in March
Athens County sewer and water study is to be completed before March 12 as regional planners push expediting the Stewart and Guysville areas. George King asks for action to stop discharging raw sewage from the former Rome Canaan High School into the Hocking River. A sewage district may form to address the issue, with loans or grants contingent on planned progress. The commission aims to complete about 70 percent of the countywide survey, funded by Farm and Home Administration, with grants of about 25000 dollars sought for the next year and local matching funds required. John Millar and Clarence McKnight continue with soil conservation planning work, seeking further financial support to finish the survey by 1977.
