Gallia County One-Room Schools to Close Under State Order
About 55 of Gallia’s 88 one room schools will close and nearly 40 teaching posts will be eliminated by July 1. The state department of education plans consolidations into rural and village districts and will add portable multiroom buildings at about $32,000. The plan aims to save money and reduce overhead across Gallia County schools.
