104 Year Old Man Dies At County Home In Chauncey
Emmanuel J. Stone, who turned 104 in October, died Tuesday at the Chauncey County Home where he had lived 12 years. Funeral set for Thursday at 11 am in Nye Cemetery with Rev. V. Ahlbrand officiating. Stone, born in Maryland, moved to Chauncey about 30 years ago and married Mrs. Brawley, who died 12 years ago. He had five children from a former marriage living in western states. two widowed daughters in Pennsylvania and Illinois could not travel. Two local residents had celebrated their 100th birthdays four years earlier. Stone and David Bryan were the centenarians, Bryan dying in 1951. Two stepdaughters, Mrs. L. C. Nye Athens and Mrs. Stimpson Merry of Chauncey, also survive.
